Craunchy…

I’m craunchy today.  I’ve had one of those days where nothing seems to go right… my work computer hates me… my hormones hate me… my lungs hate me… my brain hates me… and my uterus wants me to give it permission to join the nunnery.  I had one of those over-reaction PMS crying jags in the corner earlier, which just made me want to punch something, eat a pound of crap, and then take a nap.  I skipped the nap, the pound of crap, and the punching (back off, officer), and instead went to monthly GNO (girls night out) with a few of my pals.

This picture isn’t from tonight, but a previous GNO a couple of months ago.  Thanks, Tia, Karrie, and Rachel for whapping me upside my craunchy head!  Bottling up my craunch sauce and selling it to the Negative Norton’s of the world sounds like a swell idea.  If anyone is interested in buying a case, I’m the gal who could hook you up!

Question of the Day:  What methods do you use to counter a bad day?

Before I was pregnant, going for a good run helped me burn off my anxiety and stress. Now a bowl of icecream does the trick. I hate pms and all that goes with it. Take it easy!

Things I like to do to counter a bad day: play the piano, listen to music, play Rumi Kub on the computer, get my toenails professionally painted (did you know you can get them just painted instead of a whole pedicure, and it’s a fraction of the cost?), read an inspiring book, read poetry, take a walk, ride my bike with my dog, or simply watch a funny show on tv.

I piece quilts, and that is why I have about four ready to go to the quilter. It is my therapy for everything!

I usually try to find something that gives me pleasure, a guilty pleasure to be exact. Sometimes it’s just a matter of getting off my butt and getting to work whether it be housework or otherwise – it’s good for the soul.
And know that this too will pass – it’s only for a small moment.

I think that going to a GNO was an excellent choice! Food is usually my go to in those situations but I am trying to get away from that.

Thankfully, I don’t have many bad days.
I am cup full kinda gal.
Now occasionally I will be jittery or kind of irritable and when that happens, out the door we go. Everyone start walking / biking!! Everything else has to wait.
I always feel better after a good long walk / bike ride.
Another sure-fire way to help my spirits is to go out and spend time grooming, feeding, and riding my horses.
They always make me smile and make me take a deep breath and relax.
